On 15th October 2008 long service awards were presented to eight members of staff, three have over 20 years service, two have 12 years service and three 11 years service. After the presentation of certificates, gifts and flowers the residents and staff celebrated with buffet.
Staff development and training is very important and currently 60% of care staff either hold a NVQ level 2 and / or level 3 qualification or are working towards them. Our 3 domestics have recently obtained NVQ level 2 qualifications in housekeeping and in September we employed a modern apprentice in the kitchen, who is training at Buxton College which is part of the University of Derby.
